台東紅烏龍之旅:鹿野高台
The home of Red Oolong — Taitung's Luye highlands, where a heavily oxidised, deeply fragrant oolong was born and is still made.
Red Oolong (hongwulong) is Taitung's own invention: a heavily oxidised oolong, dark and fruity, created in the Luye highlands. This route links the cooperative behind the style, a recreational tea farm on the famous Luye plateau, and a black-tea heritage museum — a grounded look at one of Taiwan's youngest signature teas in the place that made it.

If this is your first tea route
Red Oolong sits between oolong and black tea — darker and fruitier than a high mountain oolong, smoother than a black tea. Ask to taste it alongside a lighter oolong to feel the difference oxidation makes.
